Overview:
Responsible for first and second level day to day onsite support of users and systems (regulated and non-regulated) at all Atlanta sites. Position consists of Deskside Support, Network Administration, Lab System Administration, Server Administration, and IT Projects.
Responsibilities:
- End user desktop, laptop, and software support that includes troubleshooting and Imaging/deployment of Workstations and Laptops.

Perform basic Local Area Network Support on a cisco switch network. Work with shared service network support on more advanced issues.

Perform Microsoft Windows Server support in a clustered VMware environment.

Perform software system support for laboratory software packages, that include Agilent, Endoscan, Instron, Vitek, and DNA Sequencers.

Project Work: Windows Server migrations and setting up new lab instrument servers and client PC’s with vendors support.

Ordering and setup of electronic equipment in accordance with Site Policies

Maintaining Backups/Restores of local systems.
- Assist with roll out of new companywide software, such as email, collaboration, telephony, security software.
- Manages and creates user accounts inside of AD, Exchange, etc. Also works with shared service staff for DHCP, GPO, SCCM functions.
- Server/Lab/End user Computer vulnerability remediation by keeping computer OS and computer software up to date.

Manages and creates employee security badges for building access.

Assists business with systems migrations for validated equipment.

Contacts vendors and contractors as needed. Manage repair process with vendors. Coordinates items like printer setup and repairs, Security camera systems, etc.

Assists in infrastructure projects that may include, but are not limited to: VoIP deployments, network upgrades, server upgrades, email system upgrades and application deployments.

Works with network administrators and application support staff to ensure user management, customer service and proper troubleshooting.
- Trains users on IT Systems and Policies. Coaches/trains junior site IT staff.

Works on routine assignments per written procedures, where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.

Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals.

Perform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.

Normally receives minimal instructions on routine work or daily tasks.
- Maybe required to work Holidays and weekends.
Qualifications:
Experience / Education
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Minimum of 3 years technical IT support experience which must consist of Server Administration and project work.
- Familiarity with Vlan and switch configurations
- Previous experience supporting lab systems (or workstation based technical systems) is preferred.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

Advanced knowledge of Windows 10/11 operating systems
- Advanced knowledge of PC hardware troubleshooting and repair

Advanced knowledge of printers, troubleshooting and repair

Fundamental knowledge of Ethernet and Wi-Fi networks

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Advanced knowledge of LAN, VPN, WLAN and Remote Desktop program

Knowledge in Backups/Restores
- Advanced understanding of networking principles and Microsoft Active Directory

Understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in a controlled lab setting where biohazards and chemicals are present

Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (e.g. gloves, lab coat, safety eyewear, mask)

Must be able to work in environment with variable noise levels

Ability to stand / sit / walk for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. routinely & occasionally lift 100 lbs. with help of at least one other person
