About the Role:
Prevail is looking for a Product Owner to focus on the end user experience. The role will require a strong emphasis on data analytics, and a background with relevant experience in generating and analyzing data will be a strong plus. This role is ideal for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset and real-world experience distilling business value and goals into roadmaps and refined product backlogs.
Our Product Owners gather and analyze data on program delivery, prioritize feature requests generated from that analysis, and then work with the development & design team and coordinate releases. To be successful in this role, you must have a keen ability and desire to ‘put yourself in the shoes’ of the user and understand/anticipate how to make their journey with Prevail go better. You should be able to identify user needs and work cross-functionally to manage products and their releases. You must be a master at writing clear product spec – we’re big fans of minute details – and easily communicate product specs to all team members.
As a Product Owner you will:
- Be responsible for gathering user insights to deliver an engaging platform.
- Solve product-related problems, make decisions, complete trade-off analysis to stay on track towards business deliverable commitments and goals.
- Develop key strategies, objectives with action plans that apply the data for the product to make business decisions.
- Help generate, and then analyze data, drawing conclusions on iterative improvements required to improve the product and delivery
- Define features that connect business and user goals in all areas of your product, creating processes and specifications for your cross-functional teammates in design, engineering and delivery
- Work with key stakeholders to develop and manage product road maps, you will have the final say in prioritization and what goes out when.
- Work with design, engineering, QA and delivery teammates to develop specs and implement features.
- Gather insights from research, teammate communications, and user feedback.
- Test features to ensure anything going out to our users will meet our product goals.
- Possess a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer experience integration and dependencies.
- Assess value, develops cases, and prioritizes stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with a maximum value that are aligned with product strategy.
- Research and analyze market, the users, and the roadmap for the product
- Identifies and helps the client’s and user’s understand the business model, value and value proposition.
- Develop and maintain an appropriately prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation.
- Develop appropriately detailed specifications for the product features so they are clearly understood by the development teams.
- Represents team in front of stakeholders, clients or users.
- Work closely with product management and senior management in order to create a product that fits the company goals.
Requirements:
- 1-4 years of experience in a product role (startup experience strongly preferred)
- Apps experience a strong plus
- Technical background with knowledge of software development.
- Working knowledge of Azure DevOps or similar tools (JIRA, etc.) required.
- Background in Data Analytics a strong plus.
- Experience working hands on with design and development in an Agile and/or Waterfall environment.
- Experience translating customer requests into clear and concise user stories for engineering and QA consumption.
- Comfortable manipulating and analyzing large sets of data.
- Proven ability to self-motivate and drive towards tangible outcomes.
- Comfortable interacting and leading meetings with clients.
- Strong desire to learn and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional time-management and organizational skills.
- An analytical mind with a problem-solving attitude.
