A day in the life of an Online Travel Technology Specialist at Fox may include:
- Developing and maintaining knowledge and application of travel industry online and related technology products.
- Providing user technical and navigational support for online technology systems for booking travel reservations.
- Conducting research and facilitating problem resolution for service issues across Fox World Travel online technology systems.
- Online system administration to include maintenance of existing business Travel Management Company (TMC) client accounts and set up of new accounts.
- Developing and maintaining knowledge of travel industry vendor practices, programs and operations.
- Documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all online technology products.
- Partnering with cross functional teams as point of contact Online Technology Specialist for various projects and day to day support as needed.
- Participating in vendor led trainings and project meetings, acting as a Lead representative of the Fox Online Travel Technology Team.
- Identifying online automation requirements, developing solutions and assisting with implementation of requirements in coordination with travel industry Technology Automation Systems.
- Ability to relate to internal/external clients and vendors at various levels within their organizations using diplomacy and tact.
- Engaging in standard online technology duties and tasks.
- Conducting and participating in ongoing testing of more efficient ways to use the online systems in conjunction with Technology Automation Systems.
- Coordinating with management on staffing and training for support desk and special projects related to online systems.
- Consistent communications with our online system vendor contacts to prioritize issue/requests and monitoring their progress.
- Developing and conducting regularly scheduled WebEx meetings about our online technology products.
- Developing knowledge of and practice security requirements.
- Update knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
- Maintaining a favorable and collaborative working relationship with co-workers in all departments to foster an environment of trust and mutual respect. Driving standards and best practices whenever possible and effectively foster a culture of engagement.
- Enhancing the organization’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Being innovative and recommending new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of operations and services performed.
- Other duties, projects and alternate assignments as determined by business need.
This opportunity might be for you if you have:
- 2+ years travel industry experience (required).
- 2+ years direct experience leading Concur and/or Deem implementations (required).
- Preference will be given to candidates with Global Distribution System (GDS) proficiency, Apollo preferred.
- Preference will be given to candidates with Project Management Specialized Training and/or practical experience in leading special projects.
- Practical experience in process development.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong verbal, written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Skilled in usage of various software application packages to include: Word/Excel.
- Ability to effectively multi-task while maintaining professional rapport with clients.
