Job Description: Maintenance Technician
Pay: $22.00 - $25.33
Summary Description:
This position is responsible for the installation and maintenance of equipment throughout the facility. A technician applies knowledge of welding, fabrication, and mechanical/electrical principles while supporting manufacturing and maintenance functions.
Duties and Responsibilities

Utilizes all Safety PPE and adheres to Safety procedures

Ensures that maintenance work areas are clean and free of any safety issues

Applies various welding techniques (Mig, Tig, Arc, etc.) for fabrication and repair purposes.

Interpret prints, drawings, plans or job write-ups

Measure various materials using a variety of measuring tools.

Uses various hand tools and properly selects specific tools for the appropriate jobs

Performs various duties and preventive maintenance as scheduled or needed

Maintains company required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment

Maintains stationary and mobile equipment in a safe and operable working status

Train other technicians as required

Responsible for following all safety requirements and to ensure the safety of others.

Must be available to work a 40+ hour work week which may include on-call and after-hours responsibilities.

Operates various mobile equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, telehandlers, etc.

Perform routine machine maintenance, repair damages, install new machinery, and dismantle equipment

Performs of assigned areas of the plant and critical areas such as boiler rooms, and compressor areas to ensure that equipment is readily available and safe to operate

All other duties as assigned
Requirements/Qualifications

1-3 years of experience in maintenance fields are required and the ability to demonstrate high proficiency in these areas.

Must have a mechanical aptitude and be able to use various mechanical hand and power tools/equipment

Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment, and especially must be able to interface and communicate with line operators in order to assist with repairs and troubleshooting

Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Ability to work with heavy equipment such as track hoes and dozers

Basic knowledge of electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC etc.

Basic knowledge of general construction processes
Physical Demands & Work Environment

Requires standing; walking, bending, stooping, climbing, twisting and driving for extended periods of time

Required to exert up to 50 pounds of force regularly

Thorough understanding of company safety policies / practices, and proper use of identified PPE which may involve protective clothing, sleeves, hard hats, foot protection, eye / ear protection.

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in all weather conditions.

Must be able to verbally, visually and physically receive instructions and work in loud environment

The employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles
