Description:
Barone Management is hiring! We are looking to add an in-house attorney to our team, whose responsibilities would include drafting (and/or commenting on) legal documents (including Purchase and Sale Agreements, Loan Documents, Leases, Operating Agreements, Joint Venture Agreements, and subcontractor contracts), work with land-use counsel on new project zoning analysis, and implement and enforce company compliance procedures. This role reports directly to the firm’s Principals and would work closely on various aspects of new and active development projects from a legal standpoint.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in real estate, business, communications, or other comparable fields encouraged to apply.
· Law degree required from an accredited law school with active admission in New York.
· Journal membership preferred but not required.
· Prior legal experience in a real-estate related field required, specifically regarding drafting transactional legal documents.
· Ability to work Monday through Friday in our Roslyn-based offices.
· Strong analytical and organizational skills required.
· Effective communications skills are imperative.
· Ability to perform under a demanding environment while maintaining high work quality.
· Eager to handle various roles on as-needed basis in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, with a focus on Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
· Ability to understand and grasp concepts quickly.
· Diligent note taking and meeting minute transcription.
Responsibilities
· Draft (or comment on) legal documents, including Purchase and Sale Agreements, Loan Documents, Leases, Operating Agreements, Joint Venture Agreements, and subcontractor contracts.
· Review legal documents with Principals and clearly convey internal discussions and comments to outside-counsel as necessary.
· Work with land-use counsel on new project zoning analysis.
· Implement and enforce company compliance procedures both internally and regarding outside investor capital.
· Construct organizational charts for various partnership structures.
· Regularly correspond with opposing counsel on transactions including leasing, acquisitions, and land-use issues.
· Correspond with lenders and equity investors on matters pertaining to both debt and equity financing.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $200,000.00 - $400,000.00 per year
