Job Title: Operations Leader (Assistant Manager)
Reports to: Store Leader
Purpose:
The Operations Leader (OL) is a crucial part of the Store Leadership Team, collaborating with the Store Leader to enhance store performance. This role involves supervising the freight flow, managing backroom operations, ensuring compliance with markdown policies, and acting as Leader on Duty (LOD) when necessary. The OL steps in as the store head in the absence of the Store Leader, focusing on leading the team, maintaining high standards, and promoting the company's vision.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with the Store Leader to meet financial targets and key metrics. Utilize reports to improve efficiency and performance. Ensure team scheduling aligns with business needs.
- Leadership and Team Development:
Lead and supervise team activities in assigned areas. Manage staffing, including hiring and training. Provide coaching and feedback, recognize performance, and resolve issues.
- Merchandise Flow and Markdowns:
Oversee the receiving and processing of merchandise. Manage and expedite freight flow to the sales floor. Ensure markdowns are executed and merchandised according to standards.
Model and coach team on exceptional service standards. Manage customer experience and issue resolution.
- Leader on Duty (LOD) Tasks:
Oversee store operations during assigned LOD shifts, including opening/closing, managing transactions, and supervising front end operations.
- Loss Prevention and Safety:
Support training on loss prevention, conduct audits, and maintain safety and security on the sales floor.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma required; higher education preferred.
- Experience in retail management with proven leadership abilities.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and lead effectively under pressure.
- Valid Driver’s License; may require travel, including overnight stays.
