Regency Construction Services, Inc is seeking to hire a full time Project Engineer
Job Title: Project Engineer
Reports to: Project Manager
Position Summary: Provide overall support for one or more projects. Project Engineer is responsible for facilitating the construction processes. The Project Engineer must be adaptable to project specific requirements and client needs, as well as have strong communication skills. Project experiences will include Commercial, Higher Education, K-12, Healthcare, and Industrial projects.
Position Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare quantity take-off for purposes of budget estimates, scheduling and purchasing
- Assist in preparation of budget estimates
- Review contract drawings and specifications for accuracy, completeness, and constructability
- Maintain submittal logs utilizing Procore, timely receipt of submittals and review of submittals/shop drawings for compliance
- Track and coordinate material deliveries in accordance with the Construction Schedule
- Assist in management of project permit process
- Assist in preparations of subcontractor bid packages and procurement
- Recognizes change conditions/events with respect to the contract and notifies appropriate parties, including soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and preparing quotations and change orders
- Control the prompt flow of information, plans, specification, and changes in the field, subcontractors and suppliers using Procore
- Assists Superintendent with schedule monitoring and perform monthly schedule updates using P6
- Creates correspondence to owners, contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, etc.
- Maintains RFI logs and timely response to job questions through Procore
- Takes weekly or monthly jobsite photographs
- Assists in preparing project status reports when required, participates in weekly project meetings, prepares and distributes meeting minutes
- Ensures maintenance of filing system and project records
- Assists Superintendent with creation and enforcement of Project Specific Safety program
- Assist Superintendent with completion of project record documents/As-Builts
- Timely completion of project closeout documents
- Maintains as-built drawings; posts RFI, bulletin and ASI as appropriate
- Assembles construction financial data, monitors and racks costs
- Reviews and obtains all subcontractor pay application information through GC Pay
- Maintains job costing system and updates systems to reflect forecasts and creates margin reporting
- Performs additional assignments per supervisors’ direction
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Educational and experience requirements: 4-year degree in engineering, construction management or related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership, conflict management and communication skills (verbal and written); able to build rapport and negotiate skillfully.
- Strong organizational and planning skills; able to effectively allocate and develop resources.
- Professional, dependable, and ethical. Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
- 30-hour OSHA training certificate.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
