JCA Personnel Consulting has been retained to recruit CFO candidates for Yuma Regional Medical Group (YRMG). The CFO will be responsible for providing leadership and financial oversight to YRMCs newly formed, multi-specialty medical group. With a direct reporting relationship to the Medical Group’s President, this leader will guide a medical group of 283 providers (214 Multi-Specialty Physicians, 69 APP’s) and supporting staff/departments practicing in over 35 ambulatory locations with plans for ambitious growth.
Yuma Regional Medical Center is a $900 million not-for-profit (406 Beds). Yuma Regional Medical Center is a 406 bed, not for profit, state of the art medical facility located in Yuma, AZ. Staffed by 2400 employees and nearly 400 medical practitioners. YRMC also has numerous clinics and associated specialty centers, (35+), Cancer Center, Specialty Clinic, Family Medicine Center, Heart Center, and a brand new, and a state of the art, 72 bed Emergency Department (one of the busiest in the state with 75k annual visits). YRMC is the only Level IV trauma center within 180 miles.
Major Responsibilities / Duties / Critical Tasks:
The YRMG Chief Financial Officer provides oversight and management of YRMG’s finances and is responsible for financial reporting. Works in close collaboration with YRMC divisions, to maintain a seamless experience for all YRMG and YRMC stakeholders. Assesses provider financial risks and opportunities and provides oversight and manages subordinate financial managers. Sets and tracks financial goals, objectives, revenue cycle and budgets. Serves on several councils and committees, primarily at YRMG but also at YRMC.
Fiscal Management- Demonstrates personal accountability for the YRMG financial results and revenue cycle health through development of an annual budget and operational plan and management of performance based on the plan. Engages staff in efforts to contain costs and improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of services. Understands the basics of health care financial management. Establishes budget targets for department, provides oversight for the process, and holds self and other individuals accountable for compliance with annual budget plan. Identifies program or service growth opportunities and methodologies to enhance revenues. Using available data analytics, assesses and addresses fiscal needs by working closely with YRMG and YRMC Leaders and Committees. Uses data analytics and other tools to forecast and manage volumes to adjusted budget.

Leads the financial strategic planning process and ensures these plans and objectives are integrated within the plans of YRMC. Works with others in YRMG and YRMC leadership as well as physicians to identify and evaluate programs and emerging technologies. Builds and maintains partnership with YRMC Finance Division.

Required Education / Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree required; Masters preferred.
10+ years of experience as a financial leader, with at least 5+ years of experience overseeing the financial enterprise of a hospital based, primarily employed medical group, faculty practice plan or physician organization.

Salary: $214,000 to $342,000 plus a 20% bonus based on KPI metrics for the group.
