Dental Office Patient Care Coordinator
Lost Sierra Dental is seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, team-oriented and reliable patient coordinator for our team. We are a busy two dentist practice known for providing exceptional patient experiences and excellent care in beautiful Quincy, CA. Our patient coordinators are the face of our practice and often the first team members our patients meet. This very important team member is responsible for managing provider scheduling and communicating accurately and promptly with our patients and other health care professionals with a friendly, positive attitude. Additional responsibilities include a variety of front office administrative tasks that help keep our day running smoothly. While previous dental or medical experience is helpful, we want to find the right person for the position, and we are willing to train someone with excellent customer service skills, a high level of attention to detail and team-oriented attitude!
Expected duties include
- welcoming patients to our office in a warm, friendly, professional manner on the phone, via email or text, and in person
- scheduling and confirming upcoming appointments, scheduling follow-up treatment, re-scheduling patients who have cancelled or moved their appointments to ensure continuity of patient care and consistency in provider schedules
- scheduling and communicating well with back office clinical staff to optimize patient flow
- contributing to a positive team environment
- answering phones and responding to voicemail and emails in a timely manner,
- processing patient paperwork and correspondence with other dental/medical professionals, ensuring paperwork is complete before uploading to patient’s electronic record prior to any scheduled appointments,
- keeping track of communication needs with patients and following up with patient questions or provider requests until tasks are completed in a timely manner
- communicating and discussing treatment plans and financial agreements with patients and handling payments and appointment checkouts,
- documenting in and verifying from electronic records treatment, financial and general patient information
- maintain secure and confidential patient records in accordance with HIPAA privacy regulations
- comforting patients by anticipating their anxieties, answering questions or directing them to someone who can, help patients in distress by responding to emergencies
- administrative assistant duties as directed by doctors or other providers
- maintain a neat, tidy, and organized environment for the front office and reception areas
- participating in team meetings and team building activities and occasional marketing activities
Skills required:
- excellent customer service or relevant business experience
- excellent written and verbal communication, people skills and problem-solving skills.
- strong administrative and computer skills with the ability to learn new programs, including word processing, email and our dental practice management and communication programs.
- a friendly, positive and professional demeanor when interacting with patients and teammates
- dependable, strong attention to detail and organized, high integrity and ethical standards, and a passion for providing exceptional service to patients of all ages and their families
- the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively prioritize tasks is required.
- strong time management skills and highly reliable
- high school equivalent or GED
- If no dental or medical experience, a willingness and commitment to learning the intricacies of dental treatment planning and coding, scheduling, financial arrangements, and insurance benefits and building strong patient relationships.

Job Type and Schedule: Full-time, 8-5 M-Th, no Fridays, no weekends and most holidays off and paid
Pay: DOE, $17 - $23.00 per hour
