As a member of the Azure ML Back Plane team, you will build and expand the Azure AI Infrastructure and its associated backend infrastructure services. You will design and implement the next generation automation architecture that will enable the AML services to grow faster and provide the playground for the next-gen Copilot applications, including LLMs from both OpenAI and Open-Source communities.
In addition, you will build infrastructure components required to build, deploy, monitor and service highly available and scalable Microsoft Service Fabric and Kubernetes clusters under your care. You will lead development and customer support from the frontline and establish architecture, service excellence guidelines and a high-quality bar.

Deliver a robust infrastructure orchestration platform for AI Platform.

Design and build the next generation of infrastructure on which the top AI workloads will run.

Design and build tools that will allow the AI Platform team to scale to new regions and clouds.

Deliver world-class monitoring systems and telemetry pipelines to enhance service and job observability for both end-users and operators.

Codify security and compliance requirements by building and strengthening system defenses against malicious attacks and exploits.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.

Experience with improving service operations or engineering fundamentals.
- At least 2 years of experience building and shipping production software or services.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check. This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
