BASE RATE PER HOUR: $20.45

HOURS: 6:45 AM – 3:00 PM with overtime on an as needed basis based on business needs. Starting times and hours may vary depending on coverage due to report-offs and the production schedule especially during holidays. Good attendance and punctuality required.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Seasoning Operator is responsible for seasoning product to required standards while maintaining a continuous flow of product to the packaging lines. Responsibilities include making minor adjustments to the machinery to achieve the correct product and seasoning flow, troubleshooting, maintenance of machinery, and record keeping.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
o Adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Safety Regulations consistently.
o Maintains seasoner with correct seasoning at appropriate levels.
o Identifies seasoning equipment problems and corrects problems.
o Assembles and disassembles seasoning line equipment correctly.
o Handles line clean-ups and changeovers.
o Performs chemical, Kosher, and allergen cleaning.
o Performs seasoner set-up duties.
o Completes documentation for monitoring the seasoning process.
o Performs minor adjustments and maintenance on all equipment.
o Retrieves correct and adequate supplies from the warehouse to sufficiently stock lines.
o Assists R&D in testing of new seasoning and conducting trials.
o Operates case erectors.
o Performs all sanitation of scales and drums.
o Calibrates load cells for accurate seasoning application.
o Ensures product is within QA specifications and makes adjustments if necessary.
o May perform seasoning checks on finished product.
o Performs verification on level sensors using calibration tools.
o Performs verification on no-seasoning laser sensor.
o Assists with scale calibration.
o Utilizes operator interface panels to perform seasoning drop tests, adjust seasoning settings and operate equipment.
o Performs troubleshooting and corrective actions for seasoning issues.
o Communicates with Packaging Lead and Quality Assurance regarding pertinent issues, other positions regarding training and information, with Maintenance concerning equipment problems, and with the warehouse concerning supplies.
o May perform other duties as required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
o High School Diploma or GED and/or 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the work environment is quiet in the office areas but loud and hearing protection is required in the plant. While performing some of the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and extreme heat or cold.
