Seeking a highly professional candidate for the position of Director of Finance for Fauquier County.
The Fauquier County Department of Social Services is seeking a highly motivated experienced leader to serve as the Director of Social Services. The Director is responsible for the management oversight of a team of 60 human services professionals. This dynamic department is responsible for program services to include Adult Services, Family Services, Benefits, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault and Children’s Services Administration. This work is essential in meeting the needs of nearly 70,000 citizens of Fauquier County.
Candidates should possess comprehensive knowledge of adult, child, and benefits programs as well as the ability to garner positive relationships with internal and external customers to include the judicial system, local organizations and state agencies who support the department.
Candidates will have experience with:
- Implementing processes and programs to increase efficiencies for agency personnel and citizens using our services.
- Overseeing budgets with local, state, and federal revenue sources. This includes grants, expenditure oversight, budget reconciliation, and audit completion.
- Managing a department of 50+ employees.
- Supervising multiple divisions and programs with various needs and supports.
- Implementing change, motivating staff and maintain strong relationship.
- Acquiring new funding from non-traditional sources to support the needs of the department.
- Working collaboratively with the judicial body, other County Departments, and across programs.
Desired education should include any combination of education equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in Social Work supplemented by a Master’s degree & extensive program administration experience.
