We are currently seeking a talented Field Services Technician to join our team. The Position: We are seeking an experienced Field Services Technician with a to provide comprehensive support and maintenance for our shore power systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in operating and testing medium/low voltage equipment in live facilities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our shore power systems while providing exceptional support to our customers and field operators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the shore power equipment at all sites
- Coordinates ship connections and troubleshoots events
- Responsible for the maintenance program
- Communicates with our customers and vendors on key projects
- Responsible for site inspections and testing
- Responsible for shore power system field training and the safety program
- Estimating of the various maintenance projects
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrician or electrical engineer
- Experience with medium voltage equipment
- Must have knowledge of electrical power theory including resistive and reactive circuits, vector analysis, harmonic functions and control circuits
- Sufficient experience and knowledge of high voltage properties that affect the results of a power transfer. This includes conductive properties and possible arc flash/ short circuit hazards
- Must have clear understanding of the knowledge and capabilities of those under his/her charge
- Must demonstrate leadership abilities to assign duties and follow up on mission progress and accomplishments
- Must have good knowledge of electrical construction costs and be able to assist with project estimate activities
- Must be able to schedule design activities and work with other design team members for new projects
- Must be able to coordinate schedules, sequences of sub-contractors and testing
- Understanding of testing reports from 3rd party engineering and testing companies
- Understanding of electrical drawings and diagrams
- Be able to inspect and identify physical circumstances which could compromise the high voltage system integrity
- Complete understanding of high voltage standard practices for safe handling of high voltage materials and equipment
- OSHA electrical training preferred
- First hand knowledge of NFPA 70 E
- Willingness to learn new software and train where needed
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and comparable tools
- Ability to learn new software when needed
- Ability to travel part of the time
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with users at all levels of the organization.
