Gwynedd Manufacturing, a growing defense contractor located in North Wales, PA, is a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility dedicated to producing quality products for the U.S. Department of Defense and various U.S. Federal Law Enforcement Agencies. The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting the CNC Milling & Turning machining centers, EDM processes, and the component and final assembly Dept. with regards to Quality Assurance. This involves but not limited to process improvement, work instruction creation and enhancement, along with recommended revisions to engineering related documentation. The QC Engineer works with manufacturing processes, tolerances, GD&T, castings, forgings, work orders and shop routers.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review systems and processes to develop continued improvements and efficiencies.
- Proven experience with quality policies such as ISO 9001 and processes
- Inspect and test processes and products to ensure they meet or exceed standards
- Collaborate with Design and Manufacturing Engineering along with the Operations groups to identify opportunities for improvement to workflow and establish controls to eliminate waste
- Establish and implement quality standards
- Create quality documentation
- Train others in quality measurement techniques and use of quality improvement tools.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Manufacturing Environment
- Measurement Systems – Metrology
- Six-Sigma for Product & Process Improvement
- Associate Degree in Quality Engineering or related field
- Certified Quality Engineer (ASQ)
