Washington Outpatient Surgery Center, LLC (WOSC) is a multi-specialty center, with five operating rooms and two procedure rooms, that operates Monday through Friday. WOSC has been offering its patients advanced surgical services in a convenient, comfortable setting since April 1986. We're looking for an experienced professional who can work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Registration/Medical Records Clerk organizes, files, and retrieves patient medical records. Works with both paper-based systems and electronic medical records (EMR). The Registration/Medical Records Clerk arranges for the efficient and orderly admission of patients and ensures that accurate patient information is collected.
Job Duties:

Ensures all incoming phone calls are promptly answered and routed to the correct extension/personnel
- Greet patients, visitors, vendors, etc. and direct them to appropriate areas
- Assist in opening and closing the front desk
- Check alarms as needed at the front desk, notify appropriate person when they sound
- Scan in all documents for all upcoming procedures such as: H&P’s, labs, EKG’s, insurance authorizations, referrals, imaging reports, etc.
- Verify appropriate notes are made by the providers
- Release medical records to patients and physician offices when needed or requested
- Fax orders for imaging as needed
Qualifications & Skills:

Knowledge of confidentiality requirements regarding patients and strict maintenance of proper confidentiality on all such information.
- Knowledge of medical terminology used in medical billing and current office practice and procedures.
- Knowledge of AAAHC standards and CDPH regulations.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn procedure CPT codes used in medical billing preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software preferred.
Education & License/Certification:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in office administration or related field preferred
- At least three years of administrative and clerical experience required; preferably in a health care facility.
- One to two years of Medical Records/HIM experience preferred
