Safety/Quality Lead
The safety/quality lead is responsible for ensuring the quality of produced products as well as the health and safety of employees.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the conformance of all organization's regulatory and quality systems requirements including SQF and ISO 9001
- Performs internal audits to verify compliance and conformance to all regulatory and quality systems requirements and requests the corrective / preventive actions needed
- Engage in External Audit Processes (Customers', Regulatory, etc.)
- Follows up on internal and external corrective actions to ensure timely implementation, to validate their effectiveness, and to provide support to any area that requires help to implement regulatory and quality requirements into their processes.
- Responsible for the Returned Goods Authorization (RGA) process and product disposition
- Manages quality system for customer issues to identify root causes and countermeasures
- Conducts Weekly centerline audits on all manufacturing equipment
- Completes all ECT tests
- Verifies that quality checks and all factory tickets are completed
- Responsible for all personnel training within the plant (OSHA required, mobile equipment, etc.).
- Daily floor safety observations
- Responsible for all safety/environmental permits
- Monthly fire extinguisher inspection
- Lead and run the facility safety committee
- Assist with incident reporting and root cause initiatives (injury/illness, property damage, etc.)
- Collect and verify incident reports
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with safety, quality, and environmental compliance programs, preferably in operation industrial facility.
- Sufficient knowledge, experience and understanding of quality, environmental, occupational health and safety requirements to implement related policies and procedures
- Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to delegate tasks and ensure follow-through
- Strong work ethic and sound judgment
- Outstanding communications skills
- Ability to influence and lead others
- Ability to prioritize work, manage stress, work autonomously and accept constructive feedback
- Ability to work effectively in adverse environmental conditions, including wet or humid conditions, airborne particles, potential exposure to dust, and chemicals, varied temperatures and outdoor weather conditions, and noise in the work environment
