Position Overview
The Network Administrator assists the IT Director with planning, implementing, monitoring and supporting the company’s IT infrastructure including all wired and wireless voice and data connections. He/she is able to troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex connectivity problems between firewalls, routers, switches, servers, and user devices and recognize increasingly efficient ways of managing modules of those networks. This person has to understand CISCO switching, WAN/VPN Management and layer 3 troubleshooting.
Duties & Responsibilities

Perform pro-active monitoring of network to identify and report or remediate existing causes of degradation or failure

Responsible for interconnectivity amongst various properties’ buildings (WAN Management)

Perform VPN management

Maintain documentation of all system or network configurations

Diagnose and troubleshoot reports of data or voice connectivity or network-connected device performance issues

Support the implementation, installation and operation of information systems
-
Install, upgrade, configure and repair network hardware and infrastructure
-
Communicate with vendors to resolve problems, gather information about new technology, and audit contractual agreements

Assist with evaluating and testing new hardware and software
-
Provide general helpdesk support and perform other duties and assigned by IT Management
-
Provide 24-hour on-call emergency IT support on a weekly rotation

Create purchase orders and order parts and services

Other Duties may be assigned
Job Requirements

Ability to configure and troubleshoot routers and switches, VPNs, Wireless Controllers and Access Points, DNS, and DHCP
-
Ability to stand, climb stairs and ladders, reach and bend
-
Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and perform job functions independently
-
Lift and move heavy objects
-
Must be flexible to work as needed on weekends

Some travel will be required to attend conferences and do property visits

Able to communicate effectively with others
Education & Experience
-
Associate degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience

Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience with troubleshooting network equipment and performance issues

Minimum of 2 years working with Active Directory Domain Services including user configurations, security groups, file share permissions, and group policy objects

CISCO switching skills
-
Layer 3 troubleshooting experience

Wifi administration
-
WAN & VPN management exposure
-
Experience administrating or troubleshooting phone systems
