Position Overview:
As Bookkeeper for KrohVan and its affiliated companies, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and providing essential support for the financial side of these businesses. This role requires attention to detail and timeliness in bookkeeping practices and documentation for KrohVan and its affiliates of TRUE Builders, Curo, and other associated single-entity LLCs which own properties. This employee will report to one manager and will fill a key role for a handful of small, inter-related companies in the fields of commercial construction, property management, and real estate.

Job Classification: Part-time, Hourly, Non-exempt
Reports To: CEO/President
Key Responsibilities:
- Using proficiency in QuickBooks Accounting Software and Microsoft Excel/Apple Numbers to carry out various bookkeeping functions.
- Processing financial transactions with Billing, Payables and Receivables.
- Processing bi-weekly payroll and payments to contracted consultants.
- Performing weekly/monthly statement reconciliations with multiple bank accounts, loans, and credit lines.
- Opening new Vendor accounts. Helping maintain Vendor accounts and history of transactions to keep records current, and responding to Vendor inquiries about account balances and status.
- Assisting with financial projects as necessary, which may include data entry, month-end processes, and report preparation.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax deadlines, and reoccurring payments.
- Assisting with internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and analysis related to project costs and financial transactions.
Note: This is a position which requires an estimated 5-10 hours of weekly, on-site work in Oak Brook – preferably hours completed on Wednesday and Thursdays. (Working Tuesday and Wednesday hours may be negotiated.)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience with bookkeeping, accounts payable or general accounting required, with a knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Prior experience in carrying out these duties for a company in construction, real estate, and/or property management is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates of Science Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred or equivalent experience.
- Proficient Microsoft Office/Apple iWork knowledge and skills
- Strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
