Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Detox Technician to join our team. This positition mandates a minimum of 2 years experience working as an addiction recovery treatment specialist and excellent knowledge of KIPU-EMR
Duties:
· Ability to create and maintain boundaries with clients and understand the limitations of a professional relationship within the work setting.
· Ability to complete required program documentation in an electronic medical records system (KIPU) timely, effectively and able to communicate with warmth and highlight client strengths and limitations.
· Ability to follow through on assignments without intensive oversight
· Ability to work independently and as part of a group
· Is confident and able to ask for assistance when needed without hesitation.
· Ability to discuss sensitive matters in a non-judgmental manner and to respect confidentiality and reporting laws at all times.
· Ability to manage high paced workplace
· Demonstrated problem-solving skills, program implementation and strong initiative taking.
· Working knowledge of diverse cultures and desperate income populations including the homeless and the impact of culture on recovering people
· Ability to work flexible hours (including evening and weekend hours) to meet client and company needs.
· Knowledge of HIPPA compliance according to established professional standards
· Proven ability to lead and follow a team of professionals who are responsible for the oversight of medical and clinical services in a sub-acute treatment environment.
CORE DUTIES
· Work directly with clients receiving detox/residential services and professionally document in company EHR (KIPU)
· Document observations/milieu interventions in EHR.
· Professionally complete daily shift notes
· Conduct AMA prevention and crisis intervention with immediacy.
· Ensure safety of all clients through regular checks and client rounds.
· Conduct UA drug screen as directed.
· Conduct 15-30 Rounds
· Group facilitation as needed or desired
· Lead and or sit in on groups and assist therapist(s) as needed.
· Assist with community outings, recovery meetings, and other off-site activities.
· Participate in staff meetings, team meetings, and in-service training.
· Maintain ethical boundaries with clients.
· Process a discharging client by company procedures and document in EHR
· Supervise the self-administration of medication.
· Comply with HIPAA and other mandates regarding client care and confidentiality.
· Provide professional individual and case management services to patients
· Complete detox assessments, vitals, COWS/CIWA.
· Maintain patient charts and document all counseling services according to local, state and federal regulations.
· Motivate clients to seek engagement in programming and counsel when needed as a mentor and coach.
· Conduct intakes, discharge, and initial admission assessments in a professional manner
· Safely manage the collection of UA tests with lab preparations
· Provide transportation to and from group/AA meetings as indicated
· Perform vital and round checks
· Responsibly assess clients levels of functioning performing COWS / CIWA
· Offer support and comfort in a safe comfortable home setting
· Other duties as assigned, indicated or directed.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in medication administration procedures
- Ability to accurately measure and record vital signs
- Familiarity with social work principles and practices
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis techniques is a plus
- Experience in crisis management and intervention
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws
- Competency in medical terminology usage
- Strong organizational skills for managing medical records efficiently
- Proficient in data collection methods for patient care analysis
