Leith Walk Elementary / Middle School is currently hiring an Attendance Data Monitor

POSITION SUMMARY
The Attendance Data Monitor, under the direction of the Director of Operations, provides support to administration and teachers to improve student attendance and foster student responsibility. The Attendance Monitor runs attendance reports and communicates with students, parents and staff.
Duties Include:
- Monitor student attendance and assist with various attendance procedures.
- Records student latenesses
- Collect data and accurately prepare and maintain a variety of attendance records and files regarding student attendance, tardiness, truancy, suspension and discipline.
- Communicate with students and parents regarding attendance and related issues; make and receive phone calls and notes regarding student attendance concerns and problems; make regular home visits.
- Provide student attendance information to staff, parents, and authorities as requested; explain and interpret policies and regulations regarding school attendance.
- Prepare correspondence pertaining to student attendance and records as appropriate.
- Prepare accurate attendance information and required documents and materials for Student Study Teams (SST) and parent meetings and truancy interventions.
- Refer serious attendance problems according to established procedures; assist in identifying and resolving problems of students with frequent absenteeism.
- Develop service plans, provide referrals, and monitor progress related to student attendance.
- Coordinate with community coordinator to provide support to students and families.
- Participate in staff meetings and training, as required.
- Operate computers and peripheral equipment to enter, revise and update information.
- Perform other duties directly related to the position, incidental in nature, as assigned by the supervisor.

- Communication in Spanish is highly desired.
Education and Experience:
Education:
- Associates Degree is preferred or equivalency in a services field.
Experience:
- Two years of related experience.
- Working with children and/or adolescents providing direct services to individuals and/or groups is desired.
- Working in a school-based or community-based family support program is preferred.
Licenses and Other Requirements:
Cleared background check
Work hours are from 7:45 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.. Monday - Friday, 7 hours a week.
The hourly rate is $21.00 - $23.00 per hour.
