Position Description:
The Account Manager will serve as the primary contact for clients, ensuring sustained, long-term relationships. This role involves managing client portfolios and property enhancements, focusing on maximizing growth and client retention.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of lawn maintenance, plant material, and horticultural practices.
- An associate degree in landscape, horticulture, or a related field is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel.
- Excellent communication and problem resolution skills.
Essential Tasks & Responsibilities:
Account Management:
- Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with customers through clear and frequent communication.
- Achieve 100% renewals of each account within the customer portfolio.
- Perform inspections and monitor the quality of service closely.
- Work with production to address problems promptly.
- Conduct formal meetings with customers to ensure high-quality and service expectations are met.
- Respond promptly to customer needs with effective, professional, and timely communication.
- Ensure properties meet customer standards.
- Proactively present site enhancement ideas to existing customers.
- Lead and facilitate the resolution of customer problems or concerns.
- Develop personal and working relationships with the customer base throughout their organization.
Estimation and New Sales:
- Identify new enhancement and penetration opportunities within the existing customer portfolio and provide accurate and timely estimates.
- Generate new maintenance customers and contracts.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely bids for new business.
- Respond to all inquiries and requests for bids promptly.
- Ensure all bids/estimates are prepared and approved as needed before presenting them to customers.
- Maximize enhancement opportunities and achieve sales goals.
- Maintain acceptable gross margins for enhancements that meet company goals.
- Network and secure new sales opportunities.
Production Communications:
- Communicate regularly with production personnel to ensure customer needs and expectations are met and exceeded.
- Develop strong relationships with production personnel to coordinate customer service and production efforts.
Administrative/Revenue and Profit Management:
- Participate in month-end closes.
- Complete all required paperwork in the sales process (sales tracking, estimates, contracts, enhancements).
- Renew current customers promptly.
- Collect outstanding customer accounts receivables.
- Maintain satisfactory accounts receivables levels (< 45) for assigned accounts.
- Maintain customer profitability.
