Ervin Technologies is the rapidly growing manufacturing and development center for Ervin Industries, a global corporation and the worldwide leader in steel abrasives. The division operates as a high tech metal particle producer with diverse metallurgical manufacturing processes.
The team leader is the equipment/process expert in their department. They are responsible for the safety of their personnel, product quality and executing production plans. They are also responsible for training. Routinely drives forklifts and spends the majority of their time on the production floor.
Responsibilities:
- A process expert for the department, executing the production plan by setting clear expectations and goals for the team.
- Models safe practices at all times, and expects the same from everyone in the department.
- Responsible for monitoring the quality controls of the department daily, and determining root cause and corrective actions and preventative measures for quality issues as they arise.
- Hands on training of new employees, and retraining as necessary to maintain safety and quality expectations.
- Responsible for department start-up each week.
- Determine staffing for weekly and overtime production coverage.
- Must engage and communicate regularly with employees, provide support and motivation, and provide evaluation and coaching as needed.
- Responsible for ensuring smooth shift handoff at the beginning and end of each shift by engaging with other Team Leaders and operators daily.
- Troubleshoot and correct minor equipment issues as they come up, and effectively describe larger equipment issues to Maintenance staff.
- Work collaboratively with Engineering to implement and test improvements and upgrades to equipment.
- Work closely with the Product Manager to ensure department goals and KPIs are being met.
Must Haves:
- Experience in a management or leadership role as well as employee training.
- Basic math and computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to work in a hands on environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Prefer:
- Education/degree in relevant field.
- Knowledge of industrial safety.
- Familiarity with quality programs and software.
- Fabrication/welding experience.

Pay: $26.00 - $31.00 per hour
