ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recognize health threatening changes in vital signs, symptoms, and results of diagnostic studies, and responds appropriately including documentation and notification of Charge Nurse and physician* of record.
- Assist in developing and implementing of ASC goals.
- Detect early signs and symptoms of post-operative complications and report observations promptly to physician* of record and documents accordingly.
- Carry out physician* orders accurately and questions unclear orders.
- Administer medications and parenteral therapy according to ASC Nursing policies.
- Initiate and carry out appropriate emergency procedures with proper documentation and notification of Charge Nurse and physician* of record.
- Initiate nurse-physician communication as appropriate
- Maintain a clean, safe, and quiet environment for patients as well as other personnel.
- Provide post-operative teaching to patient, family / significant other with proper documentation.
- Participate in reviewing quality assurance criteria and / or standards of care.
- Serve as a preceptor in orientation of new employees.
- Assist in maintenance, care, and cleanliness of supplies / equipment. Cost effectively maintain adequate supplies and equipment in appropriate working condition with proper documentation.
- Report damaged equipment to Charge Nurse.
- Assist with the change process involved with the implementation of new forms within the department.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
2-3 years nursing experience
