Kennel Technicians are compassionate patient care givers that demonstrate proper handling, care, and cleanliness techniques. They are responsible for the care of all hospitalized and boarded animals, including feeding, walking, bathing, monitoring, record keeping, and the cleanliness of cages, runs, and other areas. In addition, the kennel staff also is responsible for the cleanliness of the hospital and following a regular schedule for cleaning duties. Other responsibilities include: assisting doctors and veterinary technicians, maintaining laundry, following safety protocols for patients, staff, and hazardous materials, recognizing and reporting any unusual conditions or abnormal behavior, prioritizing tasks, and carrying out other assigned duties. Employee should maintain positive, communicative, and cooperative relationships with other employees, as well as act professional at all times. Applicant must have a High School diploma or equivalent, must be okay with physical labor like lifting heavy objects or restraining patients, and may be exposed to unpleasant odors or loud noises. Applicant must also be hard-working, reliable, trustworthy, communicative, and good at following instructions.
