Job Summary
Our Marketing Coordinator works under the supervision of our General Manager and is responsible for day-to-day tasks, such as the timely creation and delivery of requested sale signage and labels for all departments, consistent with existing Co-op branding. This individual will develop and implement campaigns and collateral with the goal to increase gross store sales. The Marketing Specialist will also contribute to the coordination and execution of marketing programs and events.

Wild Onion Market is a natural foods grocery store with its location in the Rogers Park section of Chicago. The Co-op strives to support and enhance the Chicago community by stocking ethically sourced natural foods, locally produced foods and goods, and through positive cooperative action in-store and in the community.
Essential Job Duties

Create and print signage and labels for all departments

Help with creation of graphics, videos and copy for use on social media, online newsletters, press releases, and print copy ads and coupons

Update produce price signs weekly

Create requested sale signs for all departments

Enforce brand marketing guidelines to create a cohesive feel throughout all work

Co-own updates to website as well as validation that website content is current

Coordinate with Social Media Coordinator, Ownership Coordinator and Community Engagement Committee on messaging, community engagement and special events

Work directly with leadership team in support of various initiatives that require input or support from Marketing

Assist in development of company communications

Work with brands and managers to promote new or existing products by means of in-store samplings and demonstrations

Organize Wellness Education Program, including recruiting educators, scheduling and planning lectures, marketing, and hosting events
Essential Skills

Excellent customer service skills for both internal and external customers.

Proficiency in Adobe Design Suite.

Advanced computer skills and knowledge.

Strong attention to detail and creativity with a focus on design, brand consistency, writing and editing.

Ability to take direction and work independently and sometimes under deadline pressure.

Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills.

Utilization of consistent branding throughout all media

Experience and Educational Requirements

Degree or certificate in Marketing, Business, Graphic Arts, or related field is preferred, or 1-3 years of relevant work experience.

Skilled in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat

Experience using social media platforms and applications (Facebook, Instagram, Constant Contact, Eventbrite, Survey Monkey, YouTube, TikTok)

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Publisher, Excel, Outlook)
