Job Purpose:
To work with production and engineering to develop new and current part processes to maximize through put and quality.
Responsibilities:
· Ensure corporate and regulatory understanding plus the proper operational understanding of all aspects of the facility to create an optimal, safe and cost effective launch.
· Create and update all manufacturing work instructions. This will include input from other groups including but not limited to quality, manufacturing and EHS.
· Identify product process improvements in manufacturing and lead CI projects for engineering dept.
· Maintain a system in which the APQP Process is followed for all new business opportunities as well as current production jobs. This to include APQP documentations for new products as well as current production.
· Lead team in new product launch by running part trials, PPAP, development of process flow and work area layout.
· Identify process poke yoke action items and lead group in implementation to improve current manufacturing as well as put in place prior to new program launch.
· Evaluate capability study data and make changes to improve process. Perform Run @ Rate and PPAP activities for customers and manufacturing.
· Set up and perform DOE trials. Responsibilities include determining DOE plan and result evaluations.
· Trouble shoot processes on the plant floor and determine best parameters for manufacturing.
· Support Services this position will be required to manage include but are not limited to manufacturing, engineering and sales personnel, plant personnel and outside suppliers/vendors.
· Evaluate process requirements and make recommendation for equipment selections or requirements during the quote process. This will include all aspects of molding, assembly, painting, poke yoke, and part checking.
· Assist Engineering Department to develop standards for tooling, change control process, and product quoting.
· Determine and make recommendations for tolerances and part processing.
· Ensure current customer satisfaction by engaging customers in conversation, writing and through entertainment when required.
· Ensure Sales & Engineering departments follow and meet IATF criteria.
· Cooperative working relationship with management team and co-workers.
· Able to communicate necessary information to management team and/or co-workers.
· Observe and obey all safety rules.
Requirements:
· 4 year Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
· Perform basic Excel skills. Experience with Power Point a plus but not required.
Working Conditions:
· Working with fiberglass material, debris and powder residue.
Must be able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment, able to prioritize and multitask
