We specialize in the engineering and design of High Voltage and Extra High Voltage substations and electric power systems. We serve a variety of markets, including investor-owned electric utilities, municipals, cooperatives, industrial facilities, commercial segments, constructors, manufacturers, and other engineering firms. We are now looking to add a motivated engineer to the team!
What you need:

Must demonstrate excellent communication skills (oral & written) and the ability to communicate technical issues simply.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or civil engineering

EIT is preferred

Must be a self-starter and exhibit strong problem-solving skills.

Must work well in a team environment as well as independently and have the ability to develop and build relationships at all levels.

Must possess effective time management and organizational skills sufficient to manage multiple projects with various priorities and competing deadlines.

What you will be doing:
-
Prepare high-quality design packages needed to construct new or modify existing substations using AutoCAD, AutoCAD electric, or 3D modeling/design such as Inventor based on applicable standards.

Design the physical aspects of substations including but not limited to Foundation & Structure Design, Foundation Layouts, Grounding Layouts, Soil Resistivity Testing, Conduit Layouts & Sizing, Switchgear Assembly Layouts, Switch House Layouts, auxiliary AC/DC power systems, electrical bus design, design sections etc.

Protection and control design

Calculations for studies and reports (grounding, lighting protection, AC/DC load studies, etc.)

Equipment specification for substation design packages, including stock, shop fabricated, and non-stock material.

Transmit/send drawing packages and supporting specifications.

Coordinate and communicate with others associated with the project.

Interact with manufacturers, vendors, and customer to resolve equipment and material issues.

Provide support to customer's construction or maintenance personnel.

Perform site visits for projects, including pre-construction meetings, during construction meetings, and post-construction meetings. Some overnight travel will be required.

Participate in substation design review meetings if required.

Support customer design criteria and standardization effort.

Engineering/project cost estimates and schedules.

This position can require some travel - approximately 20% per year.
