Position Summary
The Heavy Industrial market includes facilities like Power Plants, Refineries, Chemical Processing, Pulp and Paper Mills, and all facets of Oil and Gas Facilities. Due to the nature of construction and maintenance cycles, there tends to be sharp peaks and valleys of demand for skilled labor. This provides the opportunity for APS to develop relationships in the valleys, and then to position APS to capitalize on the need for temporary skilled labor during the peaks. The purpose of the Craft Sales Associate is to determine which companies utilize temporary craft labor, and systematically develop contacts within those companies that position APS as their temporary craft provider. It is the Craft Sales Associates responsibility to contact prospective companies, primarily by phone, identify the applicable decision maker in the organization, and then develop a relationship with that person, while positioning our services and a viable solution to their needs. Much of this is initiated through “cold calling” through organized campaigns, online research, and leads provided.
This position is located at the home office in Sedalia, MO. Candidate must be willing to relocate to or already live in or around the Sedalia, MO area and must work in the home office.
Essential Job Functions:
- Learn and understand the Temporary Craft Labor market.
- Learn and understand what drives customers to use Temporary Craft Labor.
- Call prospective customers who utilize temporary labor and build relationships.
- Identify prospective customers, and the decisionmakers for using temporary Craft Labor.
- Inform prospective customers of our unique position and ability to support them.
- Travel required on an as-needed basis, to be determined by APS Management
Job Requirements
- Valid driver's license required and capable of travel throughout the region.
- High School Diploma or equivalency required; Associate Degree or higher strongly preferred.
- Ability to sustain high volume “cold calling.”
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required; Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the public and co-workers to communicate effectively.
- Proficient in the use of various Microsoft Office Programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; proficient in the use of a variety of general office equipment and skilled at typing at a speed necessary for successful job performance.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
