Netflix has continued transforming entertainment by bringing some of their popular brands to life through Netflix’s Live Experiences. Netflix's Live Experiences has already launched multiple live experiences and events around the world, reaching millions of fans through live shows such as Stranger Things: The Experience, The Queen's Ball: A Bridgerton Experience and Squid Game: The Trials Experience..
In collaboration with Netflix’s Live Experiences, we are seeking talented and energetic Team Members to join us in bringing real life experiences to the public.
Work Environment:
Event is indoors in a climate controlled environment with possible strobe light and loud noise. Food and alcoholic beverages will be served at the venue. Team members will be stationed in Front of House for greeting, ticketing, and guest services, as well as ‘in-world’ to direct guests to the next station, bathrooms, and food areas.
Assistant General Manager, Operations (contract)
The Assistant General Manager of Operations is responsible for assisting the General Manager in the daily operations of an upcoming Netflix immersive experience in midtown Manhattan. The AGM will support all aspects of the operation including recruitment, hiring, training, vendor coordination, daily operational flow, and other duties as assigned. The AGM is critical to the success of the experience through their dedication to operational excellence to ensure a best-in-class experience. This onsite leadership role will work closely with the General Manager to open the experience in mid-October and successfully operate it through September, 2025. This temporary position is full-time and salaried and will work on-site for the duration of the New York run. The target start date is early July 15, 2024.
What you will do:
- Support the General Manager to develop and lead the overall operations for the immersive experience in a temporary location
- Responsible for seeking strategies that maximize revenue and control expenses (e.g. labor)
- Review advance ticket sales reports and plan operations accordingly
- Hire, onboard, train, and manage the event team with the support of Thunder Child HQ
- Responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting show elements, including technical and physical aspects
- Maintain the consistency and excellence of the experience, including staff scripts and talking points
- Coordinate with appropriate stakeholders and/or vendors for all operational needs including production, ticketing, retail, F&B, custodial services, security, marketing, group sales, and special events
- Execute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including crowd management and emergency procedures
- Implement a comprehensive customer service strategy and act as the point of escalation for service recovery
- Oversight of scheduling and payroll for the event team with support of Thunder Child HQ Payroll team
- Send end-of-day reports to the leadership team
- Attend regular meetings with key stakeholders to update on progress and solicit feedback
- Promote and foster a mindset of continuous innovation for internal teams and external partners
What we need from you:
- Demonstrated 3-5 years of operations management experience. Preference will be given for experience in start-ups and temporary locations
- Comfortable working in tech-heavy attractions with a strong ability to troubleshoot both hardware and software issues and communicate with technology providers. Quick learner for technical language and concepts.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays when needed (will be part of the Manager on Duty rotation)
- Strong knowledge of hiring practices and training & development strategies, including New York labor rules and regulations
- Familiarity with event production including audio/visual components, lighting cues, staging, show technology, etc.
- Expertise in using ticketing software, HRIS software, scheduling software, etc.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot both hardware and software issues and communicate with technology providers
- Experience managing direct and indirect teams in an environment that embraces continual learning and change
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and digital
- Excellent leadership skills
- Strong desire to think outside the box and innovate
Salary Range
$75,000 - 85,000 annually with position running approximately July 15, 2024 through September 2025.
