Pence Construction is looking for an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator.
We are seeking an organized self-starter with excellent communication skills to join our team. Understanding of general/commercial construction techniques, requirements, and common methods/practices related to Commercial construction projects are required.
Job Summary: The Estimator is a crucial member of the construction team.
This role demands a highly detail-oriented individual who can deliver precise estimates within tight deadlines. The Estimator will be instrumental in bidding on medium to large scale projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all preconstruction activities.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee the preconstruction process from start to finish.
· Analyze blueprints, survey notes, photos, client redlines, and bid documents to define the scope of work.
· Review bid packages for competitive coverage, completeness, and constructability.
· Collaborate closely with field operations, project management, and clients to gather necessary information and clarify details for accurate estimates.
· Utilize expertise in general/commercial construction techniques, requirements, and common methods/practices related to commercial construction projects.
· Ensure all estimates are completed with high attention to detail and accuracy, adhering to short timeline requirements.
Responsibilities:
· Identifying the time constraints in the projects.
· Managing the bid submission and prequalification process.
· Ensuring the team has an understanding and analyzing the construction documents
· Contacting Contractors and vendors to find the best prices
· Preparing reports and presenting them to the team.
· Working in collaboration with the team members
· Maintaining a strong relationship with the SubContractors
· Staying updated with the latest industrial practices and trends
· Developing estimates for planning and organizing the project
· Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors
Requirements:

· Blueprint Proficiency: Ability to read and understand various blueprints: Architectural, civil, structural, and plumbing.
· Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint.
· Experience: Proven experience in construction estimating. Mandatory ground-up construction experience. Ensuring accuracy and competitiveness in all bids.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience as a Estimator or similar role
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer
- Must be able to travel to job sites to perform surveys
