We are in search of a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our professional services team located in OAKBROOK TERRACE, Illinois. The role's focus will be to manage payroll, invoicing, and billing activities, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. This is a contract position that provides an opportunity to utilize and enhance your accounting skills in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and process payroll using Deltek Costpoint software, ensuring accurate and timely calculations, deductions, and disbursements.
- Maintain payroll records and swiftly resolve any discrepancies.
- Generate and issue accurate invoices to clients in a timely manner.
- Monitor and track receivables, ensuring prompt payments.
- Address client inquiries related to billing and invoicing issues.
- Reconcile billing accounts and prepare reports on billing status.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Perform regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Identify and resolve any discrepancies in accounts promptly.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
- Support the accounting team with various tasks as needed.
- Participate in special projects and provide recommendations for process improvements.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or equivalent
- Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management
- Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations
- Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance and Journal Entries preparation
- Experience with Month End Close processes
- Proficiency in using Costpoint - Deltek software
- Strong skills in Excel Formulas usage
- Experience in Billing and Journal Entry
- Familiarity with Code Invoices and Invoice Processing
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
