Occupational Therapist to develop and implement evidence-based intervention for children (birth-5 years) with developmental disabilities, fine motor, sensory, and adaptive skill concerns, as part of the Nisonger Early Learning Program; assess children's functional skills and develop appropriate goals prioritizing function and participation within identified daily routines and the natural environment; use family-centered and trauma-informed approaches to intervention; consult with and coach transdisciplinary team members (physical therapist, speech therapist, developmental specialist, social worker, classroom teachers, families) regarding goals and objectives; follow a primary service provider model with a coaching approach to intervention with families and caregivers as part of the Part C Early Intervention, complete home and community visits for children on caseload and consultation with other team members; participate with the transition from Part C to Part B services as necessary for children; develop IEP goals and submit reports as appropriate for deadlines; participate in ongoing professional development and program development activities as a part of a transdisciplinary EI team and with community partners; maintain records and documentation in compliance with the rules and regulations specified in the Ohio Occupational Therapy Practice Act; may supervise Occupational Therapy students placed in the Nisonger Center. This position will work flexible hours Monday-Friday 7:00am-7:00pm depending on the needs of the family or care providers for the children served. Must have personal transportation and a valid driver’s license for travel within Franklin County.
Minimum Education Required:
Master’s Degree occupational therapy from an accredited program
Required Qualifications:
Master or doctorate degree in occupational therapy from an accredited occupational therapy program required; all occupational therapists must be licensed with the State of Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Athletic Training Board and cleared through the National Database of Practitioners; CPR and First Aid certification required within first six months of employment; experience working in a large medical center environment desired; knowledge of Franklin County Early Intervention System desired; Requires successful completion of a background check.
