We are seeking an experienced professional to assume the role of Toddler Center Director for our BRAND NEW program starting on or after July 1st 2024! Your Summer will be spent working with the Chief of Staff on prepping the new program space, designing the program, purchasing materials, hiring teachers. The program is set of a "soft" open September 2024.
They will be responsible for the overall management and operations of our toddler center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, extensive experience in a leadership role within a childcare setting, and a passion for fostering the growth and development of young children.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Provide visionary leadership to the toddler center team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Develop and implement center policies and procedures in accordance with licensing regulations and best practices in early childhood education.
- Oversee daily operations, including staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and facilities management.
- Conduct regular staff meetings, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities to support the growth of the team.
- Curriculum and Program Development:
- Design and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that promotes the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of toddlers.
- Ensure that curriculum activities align with early learning standards and reflect the diverse needs and interests of the children.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to create engaging lesson plans, activities, and learning environments that stimulate curiosity and exploration.
- Parent and Community Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with parents, serving as a trusted resource and partner in their child's early education journey.
- Communicate regularly with parents through newsletters, meetings, and conferences to share updates on their child's progress and center activities.
- Foster connections with the local community through outreach initiatives, partnerships with other organizations, and participation in community events.
Parent and Community Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with parents, serving as a trusted resource and partner in their child's early education journey.
- Communicate regularly with parents through newsletters, meetings, and conferences to share updates on their child's progress and center activities.
- Foster connections with the local community through outreach initiatives, partnerships with other organizations, and participation in community events.
Health and Safety:
- Maintain a safe and nurturing environment for children, adhering to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with EEC licensing regulations and emergency procedures, conducting regular inspections and drills as required.
- Monitor children's health and well-being, promptly addressing any concerns or issues that arise.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay current on trends, research, and best practices in early childhood education, incorporating new ideas and strategies into the center's programming.
- Seek feedback from staff, parents, and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and implement action plans to address them.
- Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance leadership skills and expertise in the field.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Preferred)
- EEC Director II (Preferred) and EEC Director I (required)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role within a childcare center or Toddler setting.
- Strong knowledge of early childhood development principles, curriculum design, and assessment practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and ability to prioritize workflow.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team, with a collaborative and inclusive leadership style.
- Familiarity with EEC licensing regulations, accreditation standards, and quality improvement initiatives in early childhood education.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Passion for working with young children and their families, with a commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of the center's operations.
