Insurance defense firm seeking a receptionist/legal assistant for our New York City Offices. Responsibilities include answering and carefully screening phone calls; triaging messages to appropriate staff members; and assisting with basic administrative support to facilitate the workflow as needed.
Candidates must have a professional appearance, polished demeanor as well as a respect for confidentiality and discretion. Candidates should also be detailed oriented and possess a positive and upbeat attitude.
Job Responsibilities:
- Reception/Public Contact - Answers telephone calls, takes detailed messages, responds to inquiries and routes calls to appropriate parties.
- Filing - Maintains office filing and storage systems by sorting, and filing written material in alphabetical, numerical, or subject order as needed. Retrieves material from files upon request and keeps records of the movement of file materials.
- Mail Distribution - Receives sorts and performs simple screening of mail and send out dated materials and other documentation according to predetermined instructions. Opens, sorts, routes and distributes mail to the appropriate party.
- Administrative Support - Provides basic administrative support such as preparing letters, memorandum, correspondence and other documents.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
