Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Oral Surgery Assistant with expertise in All-on-4 procedures and proficiency in PMMA fabrication. This role is pivotal in ensuring our patients receive exceptional care during complex oral surgeries. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in oral surgery protocols, meticulous PMMA fabrication skills, and the ability to assist in administering anesthesia and sedation under the supervision of our implant specialist.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during All-on-4 procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the surgical process.
- Fabricate PMMA prosthetics using CAD/CAM systems and manual techniques, ensuring high quality and precise fit.
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain a sterile environment for surgeries and consultations.
- Administer general anesthesia and/or oral conscious sedation under the direction and supervision of licensed practitioner.
- Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative care instructions related to anesthesia, sedation, and PMMA prosthetics.
- Document patient information, treatment plans, and procedures accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Coordinate with dental lab technicians and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of PMMA materials and components.
- Support the dental team in scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and providing outstanding patient care.
Requirements:
- Certification or diploma from an accredited dental assisting program.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Oral Surgery Assistant with All-on-4 procedures, PMMA fabrication, and anesthesia/sedation administration.
- Proficiency in PMMA fabrication techniques, including CAD/CAM systems and manual finishing.
- Experience and comfortable with technology and software
- Experience in administering general anesthesia and/or oral conscious sedation, with a strong understanding of sedation protocols and patient monitoring.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with patients and colleagues professionally.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Ability to travel between offices as needed
- Ability and knowledge in trouble shooting computer issues needed for surgeries
- Available Monday through Friday
- Possible available hours to be determined, but may be an 8 hour shift between 7am-7pm
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPR certification.
- Knowledge of digital impression systems and dental CAD software.
- Familiarity with dental laboratory procedures and materials management.
- Continuing education or additional training in oral surgery, anesthesia, and prosthetic fabrication.
