Status: Full Time Days
Shift/Hours: Monday-Friday with flexibility working 8am-4:30pm
Pay Range: $85,000/year
Bonus information: $3,000 Sign on Bonus (external candidates only)

What do I need as a Staff Development RN with Messiah Lifeways?
-
RN licensed in Pennsylvania.
-
Bachelor's degree preferred.
-
Certified in CPR by an approved program that meets the state and federal regulations.

Experience in geriatrics or teaching experience required
What will I do as a Staff Development RN with Messiah Lifeways?

Develop, implement, and periodically review and revise the orientation programs for new Nursing employees, including agency.

Coordinate ongoing opportunities for CPR certification to all staff members.

Develop and Coordinate presentation of annual mandatory educational in-services and additional in-services, as needed, as procedures and regulations change (ex. Skills fair). Ensuring compliance and timely follow-up for individuals that were unable to attend. Incorporating new educational topics that are identified by team members as educational needs on their annual review per regulations or by surveying team members when developing the program outline.

Assist with procedure manuals for Nursing Care facility developing and revising procedures, as required.

Develop, provide, and order all educational video training series based on nursing care facility needs to complete self-learning programs for staff.

Coordinate educational opportunities for staff externally to improve knowledge base and increase skill level while also coordinating the communication of information with facility staff through internal in-service education.

Participate and assist with implementation and maintaining of QAPI processes in conjunction with the Nursing Administration DON.

Work with the liaison and Nursing Administration to create and assign education for team members as needed when new admissions present with diagnosis/medical devices/etc. that staff may not be familiar with.

Serves as point of contact for student programs completing rotations in Nursing (ex. HACC CNA/LPN students, Messiah University students) and complete orientation, tours, etc. as needed.

Responsible for understanding enforcement and management of cottage call policy.

Supports the planning of nursing education programs for all levels of personnel.

Conducts conferences and discussions with personnel to encourage participation in formulating departmental policies, promotes initiative, solves problems, and presents new procedures. Communicate needs to the DON and/or ADON.

Supervises nursing care employees and initiates disciplinary procedures when appropriate.

Makes significant clinical and administrative decisions for a specific shift based on department policies and procedures.
