About This Role
Dexter Southfield seeks a Content Creator to create photography and video content for the School’s social media accounts and website. The role requires you to be an excellent communicator and storyteller with experience in developing digital content to drive online engagement. Qualified candidates must demonstrate skills and experience creating both photography and video, a strong command of best practices in digital marketing, and excellent storytelling skills. The Content Creator reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Create and post a range of social media and digital content (including photography, video and reels, post captions, stories, etc.) that captures daily life at Dexter Southfield and supports the School’s marketing and communication goals with accuracy and speed
Produce videos, including using relevant equipment, conducting interviews, writing scripts, and editing
Design graphics and write content for social media accounts in alignment with a brand and style guide
Manage social media calendar and accounts for Dexter Southfield, including athletics
Manage the School’s social media listening strategy and monitor all online mentions
Track social account metrics and implement strategies for growth and engagement
Serve as the department’s primary photographer and videographer
Maintain the department’s photo and video archive
Interview constituents (students, alumni, faculty, etc.) to develop and post content, including written spotlights, videos, etc.
Create and manage digital ads, as needed
Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
College degree in communications, marketing, media, or a related field
Effective project and time management skills to efficiently prioritize projects by deadline
Creative and innovative thinking with excellent attention to detail and proofreading
Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts, including but not limited to Sprout, Hootsuite, Later, etc.
Demonstrated experience creating impactful videos for social, web, and email audiences
Proficiency using social media platforms, including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn
Demonstrated use of use sound judgment
Excellent customer service skills
Proficient knowledge of English language to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
Ability to work with minimal supervision independently and as part of a team
Punctual and consistent attendance and a strong work ethic
