Summary
We are looking for a process development engineer who will be responsible for our compound semiconductor laser chip production line under cleanroom environment. Main responsibilities include but not are limited to, production yield monitoring and improvement, new process development, and tool/equipment optimization.
Job Duties
- Optimize current chip production process by improving yield and throughout by doing data analysis and design of experiment (DOE)
- Setup and qualify new equipment for production
- Create and update the standard operation procedure and provide trainings to the operators and technicians
- Collaborate with production engineer on troubleshoot for low yield orders and find possible improvements for the process
- Implements of statistical process control and statistical process monitoring of machine and process variables
- Effective communication with manager on issues, activities and project updates
- Collaboration with team in Asia for equipment development
- Overtime may be needed based on production line needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in mechanical engineering or similar discipline.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to draw conclusions and determine strategies based upon data.
- Able to independently create DOE and follow through for conclusion
- SQL and other programing skills preferred.
- LabVIEW programming experience a plus.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, planning, and time management skills.
- Effective communicating ideas using written and verbal means at all levels of management and across diverse functional teams.
- Ability to work in clean room environment wearing smock.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
Location
This position will be on-site based in Sugar Land, Texas.
