We are a facility dedicated to providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing bariatric surgery and seeking weight management solutions. We are looking for a motivated
registered dietitian to join our outpatient clinic team, specializing in weight loss management and experienced in helping individuals achieve their weight loss goals through surgical interventions and personalized nutritional guidance. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in providing nutritional counseling and support to our patients post-surgery to optimize outcomes and promote long-term success in weight management.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients with varying medical histories pre and post-surgery to determine individual dietary needs, preferences, and goals
2. Develop individualized nutrition care plans and dietary counseling tailored to each patient's unique circumstances, preferences, and lifestyle factors.
3. Provide evidence-based dietary counseling and education to support patients in making
informed food choices, managing portion sizes, and adopting healthy eating habits post bariatric
surgery
4. Collaborate closely with healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care and integrated
treatment approaches.
5. Monitor and evaluate patient progress regularly, adjusting nutrition interventions as needed to optimize outcomes and address any barriers to success.
6. Document patient encounters, assessments, interventions, and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
7. Collect and record accurate and complete data related to nutrition interventions and
participant outcomes in accordance with data management procedures.
8. Stay abreast of the latest research, guidelines, and best practices in weight management, nutrition, and behavior change strategies, integrating new knowledge into clinical practice.
9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, program development, and interdisciplinary
team meetings to enhance the delivery of weight loss management services and overall patient care experience.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree or higher in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field from an accredited
institution.
2. Certification as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic
Registration (CDR)
3. Current state licensure as a dietitian/nutritionist, in accordance with regulatory requirements.
4. Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, with a focus on weight management, obesity
treatment, or related areas.
5. Strong knowledge of nutritional principles and dietary guidelines for weight loss and metabolic health
6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively educate, motivate, and engage individuals from diverse backgrounds
7. Proficiency in conducting nutritional assessments, interpreting laboratory data, and
developing evidence-based nutrition and physical activity plans.
8. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team environment.
9. Proficient computer skills for electronic health record (EHR) documentation, data analysis, and utilization of nutrition software tools.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
