JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
The Department of Health Care Policy & Financing (HCPF), which administers Colorado’s Medicaid program, is expanding Medicaid billing/reimbursement opportunities to encompass health-related social needs for persons experiencing homelessness (PEH), including housing and nutrition.
At Homeward Alliance (HWA), we have provided a wide variety of housing-related services to this client population for over a decade. We are in the process of enrolling as a Medicaid housing supportive services provider in summer 2024 and expect to be a fully operational Medicaid provider by October 2024. This is a new provider type in Colorado, and we are currently part of a pilot project to expand these vital services. Over time, we expect Medicaid to increase much-needed access to housing and housing-related services for the PEH population.
One vital link to Medicaid enrollment and ongoing sustainability is the oversight and mentorship of clinical supervisors. By guiding the service provision of HWA’s unlicensed case managers, supervisors help both ensure that our clients receive the best possible resources and support and that these services are reimbursable by Medicaid.
