This position is located within the Clinical Nutrition Research Center ( CNRC ) at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, IL. The CNRC , located on the campus of the Illinois Institute of Technology, conducts clinical research trials to determine the health benefits of a variety of foods and food components, focusing on safety and efficacy, dose response, bioavailability, behavior and mechanisms by which food compounds enhance health. The dietary research technician being recruited will assist and support researchers in conducting clinical nutrition trials, specifically focused on dietary services.
COMMUNICATIONS
Demonstrates extensive verbal and written communication skills focusing on basic scientific issues in a clear and concise manner. Applies effective listening skills.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Has good interface with both internal and external customers on sensitive data gathering processes.
Special Schedule Requirements
May need to work in the weekends if needs are arised.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree programs
AAS degree or successful completion of two years course work in a program meeting the educational standards established by the American Dietetic Association leading to a bachelor degree in food/nutrition required. BS degree in food/nutrition preferred Work Experience: 2 years previous food service experience: Dietitian Technician preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
On-the-job training provided. Good communication skills, basic computer skills. Must be able to read, write, use simple math, and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to work harmoniously with a variety of people.
Must show courtesy and tact, confidentiality and reasonable speed in performance of duties.
Needs excellent interpersonal skills, strong statistics background plus ability to understand and comply with GCP guidelines and regulations.

Approximately 50% of time in the kitchen lab environment and 50% in a typical office area.
May lift up to 20lbs. 10% of time.
Will perform extensive keyboard activities.
