Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dental coding, insurance verification, and office administration. Medical background and/or medical billing is a huge plus.
Responsibilities:
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits
- Set up patient appointments with correct procedures based on insurance coverage
- Process insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims
- Coordinate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to ensure accurate billing
- Maintain patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist in coding dental procedures
- Communicate with patients regarding insurance-related inquiries
- Collaborate with the office staff to streamline administrative processes
- Perform record requests for referring offices
- Work with our medical biller for sleep apnea patients
Requirements:
- Proficiency in dental terminology and dental coding
- Experience in insurance verification and claims processing
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
- Ability to maintain accurate medical records
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Prior experience working in a medical or dental office setting is preferred
