Job Summary:
The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for assisting and supporting with the safety, day-to-day oversight, delivery of all projects, planning and communications of all assigned construction projects. Establish and implement project scheduling, requests and approvals from approving authorities for certain activities on the projects, daily crew line outs, follow-up for all requests to ensure no delays in the projects, written correspondence with customers and Project Managers with respect to projects and project information, assisting in information requests and change orders, and all other items to support the project managers and other SSP staff in managing the company’s projects.

The following are examples of the minimum amount of work that will be required. Additional work will be added in the support of the company’s projects as needed.
- Monitors departmental performance, identifying and facilitating opportunities to increase productivity and efficiency.
- Reviewing material submittals and shop drawings
- Assisting project superintendents and other field personnel with material orders, equipment requests, labor requests, etc., as needed
- Conduct site-visits, as required, to gather information for your project manager.
- Maintain current project schedules.
- Assist Project Manager with gathering information to accurately report pay applications.
- Gather information to create and submit RFI’s, change orders, traffic control plans, outage requests, erosion control plans, SWPPP’s, daily crew line out’s, and other information requests as directed by the Project Managers.
- Update and organize spreadsheet trackers/reporting as required by Project Manager.
- Learn and understand the various phases of the project and what each phase of the project demands. With the information, plan and prepare for upcoming activities that will be required for the project to maintain on or ahead of schedule as well
- Collaborates with other managers to plan, direct, and coordinate programs and projects.
- Manage project material & equipment inventory, maintaining current information for each project and what items are there, needed, possibly should be returned, etc. and communicating this with your Project Manager.
- Acts as a liaison between company, customers, and vendors/suppliers.
- Prepares/organizes agendas for scheduled meetings between company, customers, and vendors/suppliers.
- Addresses questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout the project.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite.
- Ability to create and present ideas, reports, and budgets in various formats.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability of time management.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Basic Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling using MS Project
- Excellent organizational and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Must be eligible to obtain access to government installations.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
- Two years of related experience in the industry is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Pay: $42,228.04 - $50,855.27 per year
