We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
NO WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS REQUIRED. You will choose your schedule after orientation with a choice of 8- or 10-hour shifts. This role will have shift times of either 1100-1930 or 0900-1930 depending on your choice of shift hours & FTE.
A second shift differential is offered after 1500.
You will work in a team-oriented environment with low nurse/patient ratios. This role will work in various areas including PACU, Discharge, and Epidural/ hip injection suite.
Core Responsibilities
- Assesses patient and family needs in order to provide quality care to assigned patients.
- Evaluates patient’s response and intervenes appropriately for optimal outcome.
- Demonstrates ability to clearly communicate instructions to patient and family and appropriately answer questions.
- Appropriately adapts during rapidly changing pace and manages resources as needed to maintain patient flow.
- Develops, discusses, and communicates a realistic problem list (plan of care) for each patient, in collaboration with each patient, family, and significant other in order to address all identified needs.
- Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement the medical plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient.
- Evaluates the identified problems, care provided, and patient’s responses are reassessed in order meet patient and family needs to ensure overall quality of care delivered.
- Maintains up to date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team, in order to ensure quality care.
- Maintains current knowledge, certification, and licensure. Pursues professional growth and development.
- Functions as a role model for current and new staff.
- Demonstrates leadership behaviors in a professional manner.
- Directs other licensed and non-licensed personnel in the provision of care to patients as assigned.
- Performs selected duties as delegated by the VP of Nursing or others in authority.
- Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, hospital/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
- Performs all responsibilities/duties required by the hospital, as defined in the scope of service, to ensure that the unique nature of the client is addressed.
- Assumes other duties as assigned.
Required:
- Education Minimum: Must possess a current (state) license as a Registered Nurse. A minimum of two years nursing experience.
- Required Licenses/Certifications: Current RN license. BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required;
