TITLE: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Instructor
STATUS: Full-time, Non-Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS: LPN or RN Licensure required. Two years’ nursing experience preferred, with one year’s experience in the provision of long-term care facility services within the last ten years. Knowledge of CNA role and responsibilities is a plus.
DEFINITION: The CNA Instructor will teach curriculum designed to build skills and prepare participants for the Missouri State CNA licensing exam. The individual must be mission driven and customer service oriented.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build knowledge and develop clinical skills aimed at assisting participants to obtain the CNA license.
- Maintain accurate records on all students, including but not limited to attendance records, schedules and course requirements regarding hours of instruction and content.
- Evaluate and document participants’ progress through testing, observation, and assessment of skills attained
- Communicate effectively with participants and all those affiliated with the training, including staff at clinical training facilities, Youth Alliance staff, and prospective employers.
- Provide support to participants as they complete the on-line 75 hour course from MANHA.
- Provide guidance and support to participants regarding course progress, program areas, or other academic concerns.
- Provide a stimulating environment that encourages participation, interpersonal skills development, and concepts of good patient care.
- Build knowledge and develop clinical skills aimed at assisting participants in obtaining the CNA license.
- Assist participants in applying knowledge and skills learned in the CNA training curriculum to care for patients.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the YouthBuild Director.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse License in Missouri or have a temporary permit from the Missouri State Board of Nursing and not subject to any current disciplinary action (or) shall hold a multi-state or single state RN license from a jurisdiction that is party to the Nurse Licensure Compact.
- Shall successfully complete a Nursing Assistant Instructor workshop by a certifying agency using qualified instructors.
- Ability to perform physical work with patients and students in a clinical setting
- Travel is required. Individual must possess a valid driver’s license with chauffeur’s classification and access to a reliable, insured motor vehicle.
- Individual must pass a background check prior to an offer of employment.

- Demonstrated ability to support, coach and motivate individuals to reach their goals.
- Ability to listen and demonstrate empathy and non-judgmental behavior.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Travel is required. Individual must possess a valid driver’s license with chauffeur’s classification and access to a reliable, insured motor vehicle.
· Overtime may be required.
· Individual must pass a background check prior to an offer of employment.
