VCA Parkway Animal Hospital is a 2.5 doctor, small-animal practice located in Cary, North Carolina. We are looking for a customer-oriented service representative to join our veterinary team.
A customer service representative, or CSR, will act as a liaison between clients and technicians, provide product/services information, and triage calls when scheduling appointments. The best CSRs are genuinely excited to help customers and pets. They’re patient, empathetic, and passionately communicative. Customer service representatives can put themselves in their customers’ shoes and advocate for them and their pet when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Manage large amounts of incoming calls
- Take control of day- to day schedule
- Identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction
- Build sustainable relationships and trust with clients through open and interactive communication
- Keep records of customer interactions, process customer accounts and file documents electronically
- Follow communication procedures, guidelines and policies
Skills
- Proven customer support experience or experience as a client service representative
- Some veterinary experience/ medical knowledge
- Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening
- Familiarity with animal care
- Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively. Work efficiently in a busy hospital environment and proactively identify tasks required to ensure optimum client care and hospital organization. ∙
- Legibly and accurately document patient, client and primary care veterinarian information and other hospital communication; display attention to detail.
- Maintain calm demeanor during emergency situations; relate effectively with various personalities and sense when someone is in distress; demonstrate sincere compassion. ∙
- Effectively and professionally communicate verbally with coworkers, doctors and clients; handle confrontation with grace. ∙
- Think quickly and problem-solve with sound judgment. ∙
- Manage complex financial transactions and calculations.
VCA Parkway Animal Hospital is open 7:30-5:30 M-F and 8am-1pm Saturday.
