We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Operations to join our team. The Director of Operations will oversee the following departments: Purchasing, inventory management, and a team of field technicians. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in operations management, with experience in the construction or service-based industry preferred. Proficiency in software systems and the ability to lead and motivate teams are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Management:
- Provide leadership and direction to the office staff, purchasing, inventory, and technician teams.
- Collaborate with managers and supervisors to ensure efficient operations and achieve departmental goals.
- Mentor and coach team members to foster professional growth and development.
2. Operations Management:
- Oversee purchasing activities, including vendor selection, negotiation, and procurement of materials and supplies.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory.
- Implement processes and procedures to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
3. Technician Management:
- Provide oversight to the team of technicians, ensuring timely completion of projects and assignments.
- Work closely with the technician manager to address performance issues, provide training, and support professional development.
4. Software Utilization:
- Utilize software systems effectively to track inventory, manage purchasing, and monitor technician productivity.
- Implement and optimize software tools to streamline operations and improve data accuracy.
5. Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to drive business growth.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance operational effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in operations management, with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in the construction or service-based industry preferred.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in software systems for inventory management, purchasing, and operations tracking.
- Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions to improve operations.
