Major Responsibilities:

Responsible for maintaining and improving effective payroll systems. Participates in decision making and testing pertaining to systems affecting payroll. Identifies opportunities for process improvement and serves as a resource when analyzing proposed changes to the compensation policys for the Continuing Health clinical team members.

Works as the liaison with corporate payroll and assists in special projects related to payroll. Serves as primary resource within Continuing Health for issues with Advocate Works.

Generates the bi-weekly payroll for Continuing Health according to established deadlines. Assists clinical managers with approving clinical team members time cards and audits time cards to ensure that team members’ pay is administered according to compensation policies.

Processing payroll adjustments (prior pay periods) and “special pay” including on-call pay, bonuses, interim, etc. Submits forms to corporate payroll for additional pay for APNs and Physicians (face to face visits, etc). Works with corporate payroll to resolve any issues with time cards and monitors Advocate Works on payroll Monday to ensure all timecards are approved within the deadline. Investigates and resolves team member inquiries.

Responsible for understanding current payroll policies and ensuring that we are in compliance. Maintains field clinician information in Peters software to ensure accurate payroll calculations. Maintains all tables in Peters software. Trains new team members on the proper completion of transactions in Advocate Works.

Participates in the Pay Practice Committee for Continuing Health. Responds to inquiries from management regarding payroll transactions. Monitors sign on bonuses to ensure policies are followed. Works with corporate payroll to ensure team members returning from leave receive appropriate pay upon return. Works with Human Resources and Corporate Health to investigate any inquiries regarding team members’ pay. Coordinates Cross-Employee pay between Continuing Health and other operating units. Prepares monthly journal entries relating to cross-employee pay and other reclasses.
Education/Experience Required:

Level of Education: High School Diploma, Associates Degree or Equivalent
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

• Proficient in PC applications • Excellent communication skills • Excellent analytical skills, particularly in the area of problem solving • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Ability to identify and set priorities, as well as handle multiple high priorities • Ability to identify and seek assistance from manager and other available resources • Ability to make decisions within specific scope of position • Ability to work under extreme pressure to meet deadlines • Overtime and weekend work (every other weekend) expected

License/Registration/Certification: NA Experience: At least 3 – 5 years experience in Payroll utilizing payroll software, experience in health care preferred.
