Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Food Safety Manager, the Food Safety (FS) Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and maintaining all (companywide) FS documents, policies, and procedures. The
FS Coordinator provides support, and information directly to department team members and collaborates with other company personnel to ensure food safety standards, food safety guidelines, legal requirements (as they pertain to food safety), proper documentation, and customer expectations are met. The role is essential to support organizational goals and model best practices, guided by our values of Excellence, Accountability, Transparency and Stewardship (EATS).
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Respond to customer food safety questions, audit document requests, MRL requests and additional document requests for citrus, table grapes, and blueberry operations.

Manage companywide customer portals (approximately 15-25 total customer portals throughout the year), as well as request, upload, and manage information or documents required on portals from other departments.

Communicate with AC Foods’ insurance company and request Certificate of Insurance documents per customer requested terms.

Oversee department food safety email.

Maintain food safety request log.

Assist department with KPI reports.

Assist department with various administrative tasks.

Keeps up to date with relevant international, federal, state, and local regulations.

Ensure all current certification requirements are met as well as the addition and/or compliance of any new required certification.

Acts as AC Foods support personnel with food safety auditors, and customers to maintain positive and responsive relationships and ensure rapid corrective actions through accurate and timely documentation.

Assists with investigations, customer complaints using root cause analysis and works with department manager to determine what corrective and preventative actions are necessary.

Completes customer compliance documentation.

Promptly communicate document and specification updates to Food Safety Manger, and all relevant departments.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Experience in the citrus/produce industry is desired; not required.

Working knowledge of GMP and food safety regulations desired.

Ability to manage priorities, and multiple projects.

Strong computer skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Knowledge of audit schemes and terminology within, such as HAACP/HARPC, GlobalGap, PrimusGFS, USDA GAP/GHP, MRL’s.

Ability to effectively communicate and promptly respond to concerns, food safety questions and document requests.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a preferred.
Qualifications:

Minimum 2-year experience clerical/administrative assistant experience.

Strong writing, communication, and organization skills.
-
Ability to multi-task and simultaneously manage various projects.

AA/AS preferred.

Willingness to work overtime, as needed; weekends often required.

Authorized to work lawfully in the United States.
Travel Requirements:

Some travel expected 30% within a 75-mile radius.
-
Overnight travel is possible.
