JOB OVERVIEW:
The National Sales Manager for Foodservice is responsible for the direction and implementation of all sales activities in an assigned market area, especially with K-12/Education. The National Sales Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients in order to achieve revenue targets for their assigned product lines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Computer literacy required with proficiency in Microsoft Office products, Sugar CRM and on-line marketing / networking sources.
- Expected to provide status reports to Executive Management.
- Deep knowledge and current contacts with contract food service providers in the non-traditional Food Service Sector (aka Sysco, Aramark, HMS Host, Sodexo, US Foodservice and various GPO’s) for segments including College and Universities, K-12, Business and Industry, Parks and Recreation and transportation locations is essential.
- Ability to travel to any location where the Company operates and expand territory as business needs dictate.
- Ability to attend various meetings as requested with minimal advanced notice.
- Manage quarter/annual sales budgets and objectives.
- Guide sales managers in development of goals and performance budgets.
- Develop/Maintain distributor and broker relationships.
- Identify opportunities to increase sales and margins in existing accounts.
- Assess market conditions and identify areas of improvement, using IRI syndicated data.
- Develop effective presentations reflecting current market trends and conditions, our customer’s needs and highlighting our competitive advantages.
- Prepares budgets and targets; maintains selling expenses in line with assigned budgets.
- Utilization of CRM program to maintain account information and sales activity.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor Degree in Business or appropriate equivalent from an accredited university.
- Foodservice experience required.
- Proven creative, aggressive sales management experience.
- At least 15 years of direct sales experience, preferably in beverage industry.
- Knowledge of professional selling techniques and use of CRM software strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, sales presentation and merchandising skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Ability and willingness to work a flexible Full Time schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time
- Must be able to travel to various locations in organizational service areas, as required by duties.
